Dear ECS UKESF Scholars,
You should shortly be receiving the email below (once it’s approved by the moderators) about the 2020/21 UKESF scholarship scheme.
1. ECS does fantastically from the UKESF scheme, as you are all a testament to. I’m concerned that it’s going to be a lot harder to reach students this year, as I’m not physically standing at the front of a lecture theatre getting their attention. Please could I ask you to all do anything that you can to spread the word – whether it’s different ways of reaching the students (e.g. other groups you’re a member of), or via personal connections that you have with friends.
1. Also, if you’re available, please could you join the Teams session next Wednesday afternoon (link in the email below). You probably attended one of these when you were applying, and having successful scholars there to provide input, talk about their experiences, and answer questions, is incredibly valuable.
Thanks,
Professor Geoff Merrett

Dear ECS undergraduate,
This email only applies to you if:
* You are studying electronic/electrical/electrical & electronic/mechatronic/biomedical electronic/aerospace electronic engineering
* You are NOT in the final year of your degree
* You have a permanent right to work in the UK on graduation (typically this means that you pay UK/EU fees at university)
* You don’t already have a work placement sorted for next summer
If you’re still reading, you might be interested in the UK Electronics Skills Foundation’s (UKESF) scholarship scheme (which includes paid summer placements). Please watch my short (<7 minute) video at https://southampton.cloud.panopto.eu/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=0d3f3445-3d95-4563-8c05-ac6100c356f2
If, after watching, you’re interested in applying, please join this MS Teams session<https://teams.microsoft.com/l/meetup-join/19%3ameeting_YWRhNzUwM2EtOWExNy00YjdhLWEyNTItYjdhOTg5N2Q3MWVj%40thread.v2/0?context=%7b%22Tid%22%3a%224a5378f9-29f4-4d3e-be89-669d03ada9d8%22%2c%22Oid%22%3a%222356434f-03bb-4022-a7f8-ba1fd6e0c5e0%22%7d> (click the link to join) next Wednesday (04th Nov) at 14:00, where I’ll tell you more and answer any questions you might have.
