3)      Consider which companies you're going to apply to. My suggestion would be to not only focus on the big well-known companies. Apple has joined the scheme this year, but is only looking for students 1) in the penultimate year, 2) that are ideally looking for a year-long placement, and 3) that have an interest in computer architecture.

This is a reminder about the UKESF information session - today at 13:00 in 02/1085. See below for more information.


To all UK/EU EEE/Electronics/Electrical/Electromech/Mechatronic/Aerospace Elec/Biomedical Elec students that aren't in their final year:

The 2019/20 UKESF scholarship scheme is now open for applications, with a deadline of Wednesday 23 October. Among other benefits, these scholarships include an annual bursary of £1000 (plus a £200 Blackwell's voucher in the first year of the scholarship) and paid summer placements with industry. You complete one application, and potentially this can go out to lots of companies! "Free money and improved job prospects" - when I put it like that, how could you say no!

If you applied last year and were unsuccessful, there's nothing stopping you from trying again this year. Part 3 BEng students and Part 4 MEng students: unfortunately, as you're in your final year, you're not eligible for the scheme - sorry!
