<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">The overarching goal is to bring together academics, museums & galleries, and other cultural heritage stakeholders, with the aim to explore how artificial intelligence technologies can shape the general fields of
the arts, including fine arts and beyond.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">The group’s vision will encompass a number of activities including: </span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">* Shaping an interdisciplinary scientific community cutting across areas that are traditionally siloed in the UK.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">* Serving as a platform to scope cross-disciplinary collaborations, form research consortia, and outreach activities such as research seminars, research workshops, and public oriented events.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">* Serving as a platform to build AI capability for cultural heritage institutions, contributing to the visibility of UK museums and galleries.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">* Acting as a beacon of cross-disciplinary and co-created research within the UK and beyond.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">To make sure there is a wide and diverse representation –- and also a manageable number of participants –- membership acceptance in a first instance will be coordinated by the group organisers in consultation with
Turing University Liaisons. Therefore, while expressing interest will not lead to automatic acceptance, they are keen to hear from a wide range of academics who feel that they could both contribute and benefit from being part of the group. The group is also
seeking to have representation from major and independent non-academic institutions, in order to be a platform for dialogue within the wider arts sector.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;color:black">While the group will initially focus on visual arts, the aim is to expand its activities to wider arts disciplines and creative industries sectors in the near future. Therefore the Turing is welcoming expressions
of interest from a wide range of backgrounds and research interests. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
