[Turing-Southampton] New Turing Opportunity - Research Associate in Corpus-Based Digital Humanities

The Alan Turing Institute is seeking a Research Associate in Corpus-Based Digital Humanities within their Data Science for Science Programme.
We are looking for a researcher with a background in either Research Software Engineering/Research Data Science or Digital Humanities to help operationalise the processing and analysing of historical data on our project, especially our historical newspaper text corpora. As Research Associate on the Living with Machines Project, you will work closely with the project PI (Prof Ruth Ahnert) and the wider interdisciplinary team based at the Turing Institute and the British Library. You will play an active part in all aspects of research from data preparation to the development of research questions, modelling and analysis, and writing up / publication.
You will help oversee the processing and analysis of the historical newspaper text corpora and other data sets. Working closely with the project's research engineers you will develop innovative methods for the operationalisation of historical research questions, which will be published in high-impact venues, and in ways that support reproducible research.
This is a full-time, 18-month fixed term opportunity.
