I am delighted to announce that Tools, Practices and Systems is now looking for volunteers to join its leadership team!

What will the Leadership Team do?

This is an opportunity to help shape the future of open infrastructure in data science, building on the success of programme projects such as The Turing Way.

Leadership team members will be advocates and representatives for the programme in the Turing, on funding and collaboration proposals, and beyond. They will be actively volunteering alongside me as Programme Lead to assist with developing the strategy of the programme, by identifying and connecting to the areas where investment in open infrastructure can make the largest impact, as well as supporting the internal Turing team tasked with delivering the programme.

We would hope for an initial commitment to the team of 12 months to allow for reflection and evaluation of the roles as the programme develops. We would also hope that volunteers would regularly commit around 8 hours a month to this work.

Who are we looking for?

Successful applicants will bring a broad range of connections within and outside the Turing, across open science communities, universities and other organisations. We're looking for a diversity of skills, experiences, and viewpoints that complement and enhance the programme's existing strengths.

We believe that everyone has something to offer the programme so would particularly encourage people from underrepresented groups to apply. If you're not sure that "leadership team member" sounds like you - or you don't see people like you in leadership positions - we want your application!

Applications should be submitted via The Alan Turing Institute Flexigrant portal: https://ati.flexigrant.com/<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fati.flexigrant.com%2F&data=04%7C01%7Csdd1%40soton.ac.uk%7C0820bd5f1bda4831ad0108d95ce63fd2%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0%7C0%7C637642966254245651%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=hy8hNST55CfANWurX0%2FvNViAUG%2F97qdztMXOBYjw4Q4%3D&reserved=0>
