2020 Online Training Funding Call

Applications are open for the Online Training funding call aimed at enhancing our training offering for the research community, and beyond. We are inviting all researchers affiliated with a UK-based university, training body or research institution to submit training proposals.

We are offering up to £10000 to each of the 5-10 successful training initiatives, and the grants are aimed at primarily covering development and teaching time. A successful training proposal will likely share our ethos: accessible science, interactive learning, and creative ideas for bringing data science & AI training to a broader audience.

The deadline for applications is 20 October 2020 and you can find more information about the call on our website<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.turing.ac.uk%2Fwork-turing%2Fonline-training-call&data=01%7C01%7C%7C1518d1be32ac4869ab1408d85f0f5d64%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=Ae8GLaL33AT98eXaU%2BS0nZ7alKPrbt3erj4Duyeh8t0%3D&reserved=0>.

Turing Reviewer Pool

As the Institute is growing, there are an increasing number of activities within the Turing that require advice from expert and generalist reviewers. These include recurrent work linked to academic programmes and the review of externally proposed projects that Turing engages with.

We are hoping to create a reviewer pool of individuals who hold diverse expertise and who can be guided by an established framework to ensure transparent and consistent reviewing across these programmes. The reviewers may have an official affiliation to the Turing or may be collaborating on specific projects while employed entirely by our University Partners.

Expressions of interest are open on a rolling basis and more information can be found on the submission form<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fforms.office.com%2FPages%2FResponsePage.aspx%3Fid%3Dp_SVQ1XklU-Knx-672OE-QsFMYnhUOZIq6vkLRtyNQFUME1VTzU5TDEwSTBUNjlNUkYyUlhMSjY1Mi4u&data=01%7C01%7C%7C1518d1be32ac4869ab1408d85f0f5d64%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=0Ouh1SJO0w4M9Je%2FfvalMLHJZ2dtOb1a8n%2FrrUpyTIE%3D&reserved=0>.

PhD20 Turing Research Showcase

We're hosting the first Student Research Showcase which will run as a series of virtual, interactive posters presented by some of our current students. This is an excellent opportunity for researchers to find out more about the on-going work at the Turing and forge new collaborations.

Attendees don't have to attend all the posters, but we recommend dropping in 2-3 sessions (not for the entire 45-minute slots). The showcase is taking place on the 24 September 2020 and you can view the schedule of activities here<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Falan-turing-institute.github.io%2Fstudent-posters-2020%2Fprogramme%2F&data=01%7C01%7C%7C1518d1be32ac4869ab1408d85f0f5d64%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0&sdata=GwZ0kQSvt5mvGkorqhJebWLUda3a7cH9Ltz8jV%2FATQo%3D&reserved=0> and sign up to attend the live Q&A poster sessions here<https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/turing-research-showcase-tickets-119092558047>.
