[Turing-Southampton] Become a Data Study Group Principal Investigator

The Turing is pleased to announce that they are offering new opportunities for early career researchers and post-docs to act as Data Study Group (DSG) Principal Investigators (PIs) on the following challenges:

Challenge owner: Estée Lauder

Challenge: Understanding how machine learning can enhance creativity and improve the customer experience of marketing campaigns

Useful skills: Computer vision, machine learning, interpretable machine learning for computer vision

Challenge owner: Dstl

Challenge: Reinforcement learning solutions for strategic planning in simulations of defence scenarios.

Useful skills: Reinforcement learning



Unlike other DSG challenges the focus of this challenge is AI and not data and will incorporate a number of researchers from outside academia.

Challenge owner: CityMaas

Challenge: Improve information quality on accessibility for routes and places through data.

Useful skills: (Probabilistic) classifiers, geo-spatial analysis



One of the most challenging parts of daily life for people with disabilities is travel. Accessible travel is inefficient due to poor infrastructure, such as a lack of step-free access, and real-time accessibility information.

The deadline for applications is Friday 9 November.



Training will be provided during the week commencing 16 November to support DSG PIs when scoping challenges and talking to industry/non-academic partners.
