The candidate will work with an interdisciplinary team at the Turing and in close collaboration with groups at the University of Cambridge, MRC Laboratory of Molecular Biology and the Science and Technologies Facilities Council. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent level of experience in biological and physical sciences, computer science, statistics, or mathematics, and particularly from candidates whose prior research has a strong computational focus.

  2. PDRA Environmental Sensors: The postholder will work closely with an interdisciplinary team of Senior Research Fellows and other PDRAs at the Turing, as well as collaborators at the British Antarctic Survey, Science and Technologies Facilities Council, and the UK Met Office. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD degree or equivalent professional experience in a field with significant elements of computational statistics or statistical machine learning.

  1. PDRA Machine Learning and Food Security: The two-year PDRA postholder will join The Alan Turing Institute to work within its AI for Science and Government programme.<https://eur03.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.turing.ac.uk%2Fresearch%2Fasg&data=04%7C01%7C%7C53f9351a1ecb40e11bd608d8a11ad17c%7C4a5378f929f44d3ebe89669d03ada9d8%7C0%7C0%7C637436483833123469%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C1000&sdata=CR%2BxkrYQtLywXjQ0522eojiAiXd8B%2FxxLOnNnZUUWk8%3D&reserved=0> This project will be run within the SPF Wave 1 funded programme, AI for Science and Government. This PDRA will investigate applications of machine learning to model the impact of climate change on food security. The ideal candidate will hold a PhD or equivalent level of qualification in computer science or in the physical, mathematical, biological, or environmental sciences, preferably with a strong computational focus.

For each of the above roles, Research Assistant level can be considered also for individuals near completion of a PhD or equivalent level of professional experience in the specific field named above.
