Call for COVID-19 rapid response data science taskforce

Please see below the link to an urgent Call from The Alan Turing Institute.  You will see that the first deadline for submission of Expressions of Interest is this Friday, 3 April at 13:00.

Note that there are 2 parallel calls:

1. For existing teams with expertise in health data science - initial deadline Friday 3 April 13:00 BST
2. For analysts to join the talent pool - initial deadline Friday 10 April 13:00 BST

There are also two 'waves' to this project:

Wave 1: Initially at least, the Turing require teams to use tested, robust and reproducible methods to inform acute care management and clinical decisions.

Wave 2: the Turing require teams to conduct novel methodological research, aiming to improve on standard models (only once initial teams have been set up, systems proven robust and processes are in place for validation).

Applicants should consider carefully the required skills, expertise and background but not exclude themselves unnecessarily: the Turing are interested in recruiting analysts with a range of skills, not necessarily with experience in health data (although that is desirable).
