[Turing-Southampton] Hadley Wickham (RStudio) Data Science Short Courses and Public Lecture

Hadley Wickham (Chief Scientist at RStudio) will be visiting Southampton Statistical Sciences Research Institute at the University of Southampton in August 2019 and delivering two short courses on data science and R.
Hadley will also deliver a public lecture on “Data Science and Reproducibility” on the evening of Wed 21 August.


SHORT COURSE 1
Title: Package Development

Brief description:
The key to well-documented, well-tested and easily-distributed R code is the package. This half day class will teach you how to make package development as easy as possible with devtools and usethis. You’ll also learn roxygen2 to document your code so others (including future you!) can understand what's going on, and tests to avoid future breakages.

Title: Boosting your tidyverse productivity

Brief description:
This course will help boost your productivity in the tidyverse by helping you to replace copied-and-pasted code with reusable functions.
The course will cover functional programming with the purrr , tidyeval and type stability.
