Dear all,

On Thursday (15 November) at 2pm in 54 / 7035 (7B), we have an S3RI
seminar from Robin Mitra (Lancaster University) on "Optimal design when
outcome values are not missing at random". Details are given below.

The seminar will also be available via a live web-cast at
https://coursecast.soton.ac.uk/Panopto/Pages/Viewer.aspx?id=605696bf-6c2b-4e4e-a8eb-a99000ffa22a

The talk will be followed by tea and cake in the staff reading room on
level 4 of building 54.

All are welcome!

Best wishes,

Helen

Optimal design when outcome values are not missing at random

Robin Mitra, Lancaster University

The presence of missing values complicates analyses. In design of
experiments, missing values are particularly problematic when
constructing optimal designs, as it is not known which values are
missing at the design stage. When data are missing at random it is
possible to incorporate this information into the optimality criterion
that is used to find designs. However, when data are not missing at
random this framework can lead to inefficient designs. In this talk the
areas of missing data and optimal design are briefly reviewed. Some of
the specific challenges are then considered when finding optimal designs
for linear regression models with not missing at random values present.
