Hi Everyone,
Following up from my previous email, and after discussion at the meeting yesterday, the weather does not look great but we remain hopeful that the forecast will change. The committee have decided that we will give a go or no-go confirmation on Saturday afternoon based on the forecast for Sunday as to whether or not we will go ahead with the introductory outing. If it is predicted to have a high chance of rain, then we will have to postpone to a new date. We will issue a doodlepoll for this if this is the case.
Assuming we do go ahead we plan (subject to changes) to start getting out and setting up the radio equipment from 10am. Please meet us grass between the staff social centre (building 38) and the Nuffield theatre (building 6). We will then setup our portable station. We plan to use our HF radio, wire antenna and mast.
We hope to get a few hours of radio time but this will depend on a number of factors such as how many people turn up (you will get a few goes using the radio), how good the band(radio) conditions are, weather, etc. For this reason we cannot give an exact time for pack down. We would appreciate some hands to help pack the kit away.
Kind Regards
Cori Haws
