Hello Everyone,
We have the introductory outing tomorrow. Essentially all of the required kit (coax, end-fed operating paperwork) is in the Portable operating station, so it will only be a matter of bringing that, the mast, and the IC-7000.
Freddie and I will be starting to get things out around 5pm, so we get a prompt start at 6pm. If anyone else is able to help, this would be most appreciated.
I note that the Intercourse has been taken over by a number of large gazebos - I assume erected for the purpose of the Open Day this Saturday? so we may be moving slightly. It has been suggested that we use the grass on the other side of University road by the library instead.
There will be a pretty much full ISS passover (84 degrees) at about 7:30pm, so it might be possible to pick up the beacon with the satellite antenna. Rather annoyingly, there was a scheduled SSTV broadcast but we will miss that unfortunately as it stops at 16:25UTC (and it wouldn't have been over us at that point in time anyway).
Hopefully see you there tomorrow, though I do have to abscond about 6:45pm elsewhere so won't be able to stay for the duration.
Kind Regards
Cori Haws (27570274)
