[suws-members] Outing DELAYED

Owing to a general lack of people available, we have opted to delay the outing. Please could you send me (fjn1g13 at soton.ac.uk) an email if you'd be interested in attending an outing the Saturday after (2019-05-11), so that I can get some idea of whether that's possible, as it would be nice to have an outing and do some operating before exams are upon us.

As previously suggested, we will be discussing the outing today, in the usual place (Zepler seminar room), and the usual time (18:00). The weather forecast for Saturday looks reasonable, so we should be able to test the new gazebo and avoid burning in the sun.

Good day all,

We are planning to have an outing on the Saturday the 4th of May, which will be a good opportunity to try out our new gazebo!

In the meeting beforehand (Thursday the 2nd), we will determine what exactly we will be doing, depending on who will be around and how the weather forecast looks.

We'd expect to meet in the foyer of Zepler around 11:00 on the Saturday, whereafter we would collect all the kit, and then head off to the Common for a day of Radio operation. We'll likely be around until 18:00, but may pack down later or earlier depending on how we feel on the day.

Things to discuss on the Thursday:
 - which radios to take (if we can take more kit if we have cars)
 - what to eat while we are there (we've had a barbeque in recent years)
