Dear All,

As you are hopefully aware, Science and Engineering Day is this Saturday, 16th March.

A far as I know those who are helping include Tom Kelly, Chris Malton, Tyler and Myself.

If there is anyone else who is interesting in helping, please get in contact with me.

I believe the festival starts at about 10:00, so we are going to need to be lugging things down to the room from 09:00 at the latest.

We can apparently start setting up on Friday from 18:00 however for the security of our equipment we probably can’t do this.

The plan is/was to run a full demonstration station, however the weather forecast for Saturday is Showers and Wind. (I’m not sure if we will be able to put up a mast in those conditions). Hopefully we will be able to string up some end fed’s and this will still be possible.

Other activities will be Morse Code, SSTV Demo, SDR. I will also try to do some digital modes. I’m contemplating us using the Training Dipole and letting the public tuning an antenna as well.

Also plan to get a few of the antennas out and just have them on display along side the RSGB literature etc.

We may have to be creative regarding the SSTV as apparently we are meant to get people to sign “model release” forms and get them to read a privacy policy which won’t even cover our usecase anyway. Suggestions on this, most welcome.

Kind Regards
