We’re now a good number of weeks into the semester now and we need to get our memberships records up together.

I would like to remind everyone that due to changes within the union, we are required to have memberships go via the box office system and we are not allowed to take cash directly.

For those planning to receive training and sit exams, you will be required to pay your membership fee before we can sign off on your training.

 �

The union is also stepping a hard line regarding membership. This will not impact current students, however, Alumni and Staff are required to obtain the relevant Union Memberships. It is advised that Alumni who wish to proactively participate in the society (such that they would be required to pay a membership fee), to apply for the lifetime membership of the union. Staff are required to pay the yearly Staff Association Membership. If you fall into both of these categories (Alumni and Staff) obviously get the Lifetime membership you are entitled to. Please see the attached membership form if you need become a member the union. As an aside, life and associate memberships entitle access to union facilities including bars etc., so Alumni should get one regardless – while they still offer this at a reasonable price.

To pay membership fees, please visit boxoffice.susu.org/view/322/memberships.

You will need to login with your university credentials. If you have not used box office before, it may ask a couple of questions.

After logging in, you will undoubtably be returned to the website root and have to use the link above to get back to where you’re meant to be!

Scroll down to the very bottom until you find “Wireless Society”.

Click Buy on the required membership and proceed to checkout!

Follow the instructions on screen and complete payment.

Please be aware, there are various membership types. The system does not check eligibility, so please make sure you choose the correct membership.

Membership Fee Details

Year Membership (Student) - £15.00 – Most members will need this membership.

Year Membership NEW MEMBER - £10.00 – Any new member who has never been a member of the society in the past.

Semester X Membership (Student) - £7.50 – For either Semester 1 or Semester 2.

Year Membership (Alumni/Staff) – £25.00 – For Alumni or Staff.

Note: Box Office enforces a 50p booking fee on all transactions.

If anyone has issues with the Box Office system, and it is essential for you to pay membership - i.e before an exam, we will come to an alternative arrangement until you can pay via Box Office.
