Hi everybody,
Here's my current list of exam candidates:
Foundation:
Mohit Gupta
Intermediate:
Thomas Kelly
David Young
Cori Haws
Advanced:
Arihant Kuba
Frederick Nash
Laurie Kirkcaldy
Josh Curry
Mark Bumstead
If your name's not on that list and you'd like to take an exam, you must send your application form to both me and exams at rsgb.org.uk by the 22nd April. Please email me or contact me on IRC if you have any questions.
In the mean time, those who are confirmed to take exams should be revising from the course textbooks and doing practice papers that are linked to from our wiki.
Finally, if you have previously borrowed a course textbook from the club and no longer require it, please do so at the meeting this week so that others can use the resources available.
Regards,
Henry

Hi everyone,
Here's a list of applications I've received so far:
Foundation:
Mohit Gupta
Intermediate:
David Young
Advanced:
Frederick Nash
If your name is not on that list and you want to take an exam, please send me your application form ASAP. This is particularly important if you're taking a foundation or intermediate exam, as we need to have enough time to complete the practical assessments before the written exam on Friday 6th May. The application deadline is Friday 22nd April.
I will be at the meeting tomorrow, so come and see me if you want to talk about exams.
73s,
Henry M0HWY

Subject: RE: Radio exam coming up - send me your application forms ASAP!
Hi everyone,
Just a reminder about the exam application deadline for the 6th May radio exams. Whilst the RSGB form submission and exam payment deadline is 22nd April, I would like every candidate to send me their application forms ASAP, as I need to complete an exam paper request. For foundation and intermediate this is especially important, as candidates for these exams must complete the practical aspects before the date of the written exam.
If you're in Southampton and would like to take an intermediate exam, feel free to come along to the doing today to obtain a VFO kit and UK mains plug. I can provide access to a soldering iron, toolkit and oscilloscope if you need these.
If you're interested in taking a foundation exam, please at least indicate this by the 1st April, as this will help with organising training sessions for operating kit.
If anyone needs to borrow a course textbook, we can also loan these out.
73s,
Henry M0HWY

Subject: Radio exam coming up - 6th May
Hi everyone,
The next radio exam will be on the Friday 6th May. We can run foundation, intermediate and advanced exams on this date. If you're interested in taking an exam, fill in the relevant application form:
foundation: http://www.rsgbdata.net/wp-site/clubsandtraining/docs/foundation/EX200%20CAF-%20Foundation_May%202012.doc

advanced: http://www.rsgbdata.net/wp-site/clubsandtraining/docs/advanced/EX202%20CAF-Advanced_August%202013.doc
and email a copy to both exams at rsgb.org.uk and hk1g10 at soton.ac.uk . You can pay for your exam online at http://www.rsgb.org/exampay .
For foundation and intermediate candidates, there are practical assessments which need completing before the exam. These are listed in the links below. These pages also contain links to practice papers, to give you an idea of the sort of questions asked in the exam:
foundation: https://www.suws.org.uk/wiki/Foundation_Syllabus
intermediate: https://www.suws.org.uk/wiki/Intermediate_Syllabus
If you are taking either a foundation or intermediate exam, please let me know ASAP so that we can allow enough time to get through the practical assessment stages. The application deadline is the 22nd April.
Links to advanced exam papers can be found here: https://www.suws.org.uk/wiki/Advanced_Syllabus
We have course books for each level of exam, which you may borrow from the society.
