[suws-members] SUWS **outing** 2015-09-26T13:00 @ Gower (Zepler) car park

Hi all,

Welcome back to undergrads who were away this summer!

There is an outing this Saturday from 13:00 onwards for existing club
members only (ie not freshers). We will be meeting at Zepler car park
and then walking/driving to somewhere on the Common to set up.

This outing is a "rehearsal" for the newbie outing, to ensure we all
know how to use the kit, to ensure our setup will work, and to ensure
the kit is generally still in order after the bunfights. The goal is to
make a few HF contacts and to ensure we have everything we need for the
newbie outing.

There will be a barbecue. I intend to bring a small disposable barbecue,
and if we all bring a small amount of food to share to be cooked on it
or generally eaten with it, that will hopefully work out well.

I don't know exactly where on the common we will be going, but I guess
it'll have to be somewhere not too far to where I can park my car to
unload stuff like the FT-920 that we will use for this outing. We will
be on 145.350 if you wish to come along late.

We have also planned out the first four Thursdays of the actual term:

1st October: Introductory meeting
8th October: Introductory meeting
15th October: Newbie outing (weather permitting)
22nd October: Henry's talk on changes to licence conditions (may be
swapped with newbie outing, weather permitting).
