[suws-members] Mini practical session this weekend

Hi all,

This message is for anyone who still needs to complete foundation or intermediate practical assessments. The list of what's required is as follows (applicable to whichever exam you are taking):

Foundation:
* VHF contact practice
* HF contact practice
* Morse code appreciation
* Antenna tuning

Intermediate:
* VFO kit construction
* Wiring a UK mains plug
* Fitting a connector to a coaxial cable

I will be bringing all the kit for the above practicals to the normal meeting room, Zepler CLS, tomorrow morning. I will be there from around 09:30am-midday. The primary focus shall be for foundation candidates to complete HF operation and morse code, however anyone who needs to finish any practical assessment is welcome to turn up.

For intermediate candidates, if you would like to do construction then please bring along any soldering iron / toolkits you own. I can provide a single soldering iron and toolkit, and also an oscilloscope and scope probes if you need to calibrate your VFO

Note that in order to take a foundation/intermediate exam you must complete the tasks in the respective lists above before the exam date, otherwise you will be unable to take the exam (even if you have paid for it!). Please email me if you have any queries regarding the application process.

I appreciate that this Saturday practical session is rather short notice, so I shall also bring along the same equipment to the meeting on Thursday 19th November.
