Hi All,
Southampton University Spaceflight Society is launching a High Altitude
Balloon from Pepperbox Hill nr. Salisbury at 7am on Friday (tomorrow)
morning.
The balloon will be carrying 2x Raspberry Pis, each with a PiCam and
NTX2B 434 MHz Transmitter to transmit live images down to the ground.
One of the PiCams is fitted with a solar filter and pointed slightly up.
The other is pointed slightly down to capture the shadow on the ground.
Pi 1 (solar filter): 434.149 MHz USB RTTY, 300bd, 880Hz shift, 8n2
Pi 2 (ground-facing): 434.211 MHz USB RTTY, 600bd, 600Hz shift, 8n2
The balloon is forecast to travel quickly southwards out into the
channel, it may float at altitude, or splash down just short of the
French Coast. Hence the fast datarates to grab as much imagery as
possible.
Using a 434MHz USB receiver, and our dl-fldigi software, you can listen
in and help upload the image packets.
