I think the opening sentence should better summarise the area. How about this:

> The Web Observatory Workshop (WOW17) brings together researchers addressing the problems of sharing large-scale Web and IoT research outputs (data sets, interactive analytics, visualisations) on the Web, focusing on the challenges of technical and ethical interoperability, licensing and trust. 

Also "years' topics" should have the apostrophe. 

Also don't forget to mention ethics and trust after the opening sentence!
