Hi Dominic, Dave, Wendy,
I'm back on Wednesday (16th), but I can help putting something together on Tuesday on the flight back if something is drafted in a Google docs before?
Although this template/wording is for BWOW (Web Sci Web Observatories workshop), this might give some guidance:

Hope this helps!
Ramine

There was also the 2nd International Web Observatory Workshop (http://wow.oerc.ox.ac.uk/) held at www2014, which we could continue for a 3rd as well, if we wish to separate them again. Last year’s sociam workshop had only one web observatory paper as far as I can tell.
I’ll start with a sociam workshop proposal with web observatories written in, and we can decide to split it up later.
On that note, does anyone have the sociam workshop proposal from last year? It’s not on the google docs where it should be. Also do we have the number of attendants, papers submitted, etc from last year?
Thanks!
Dominic

Hi Dominic. This is a key question - we had them both separately, then
last year they were combined. I wasn’t present, so I think we need to
hear from those who were. The major heading was Social Machines, with
Observatories written inside that - which theoretically made sense as we
also have a Web Observatory workshop series (“building Web Observatories”)
at WebSci.
Here is last year’s http://sociam.org/socm2015/

Just a clarification. Are we proposing a Web Observatory workshop, a
SOCIAM workshop, or both for WWW. I’ll get started on a draft of which
(or both) by tonight to pass around.
Thanks!

I can help generate a draft for a proposal. If I can get access to the
last year’s, which I believe should be in the sociam google folder.
Thanks,

Hi - I'd support that, for continuity of the workshop series. Bearing
in mind Web Sci is a full track I still think there is room for social
machines and Web observatories.
Am on my way to Durban for a social science conference then straight
back for meetings Wed-Thu. I can probably comment but not generate a
proposal.
As I'm chairing the website track you might not want me as a workshop
chair as that might weaken the case, if I look greedy/overloaded (?)
Kev
might be able to help, though I know he was also thinking about a
music
one when I saw him last Tuesday.
I'll be online from Durban tonight...
Thanks

Dear all
Just spotted that the workshop deadline for WWW2016 is September 17th
(Thursday)
Do we want to submit as last year? Ramine mentioned this to me before
he went on holiday but I dithered.
Thoughts?
No idea which email to use for Nigel at the moment. Susan isn't back
until Thursday.
