Clearly this is more effective than leaving it to us mortals.

Some suggestions :-)
(I know you have put lots in, but we could do it just for future ones?)

You could have a column with the URL of the conference home page - it might be better than putting it in the Notes column

I would actually split out the first thing into columns:
Name | Dates | Location
And for dates, I would usually use the ISO-like rendering of 2014-07-28, as it can be easier to read in a column.
Also, that way people can sort the sheet on columns such as conference date, registration date, etc. if they really want to.

Is the "Papers Submitted by:” to have the deadline on, or only people?
I think there could well be a separate column for the deadline - this is the important thing for upcoming events.
And perhaps if the Paper Accepted column had the eprints URI of the paper, it would help you for the reporting and the web site?

Oh dear - I need to write them all out now :-)
Something like:
Name
Submission deadline + papers submitted
Acceptance deadline + Accepted papers (inc URI)
Early bird date
Conference dates
Attending
Location
URL
Notes

I haven’t touched it myself, other than to freeze the top row. :-)
