[Sociam-soton] Re: Demos and Presentations

Hi,
I guess this is a topic for a project-wide SOCIAM meeting as well.
Some thoughts.
I think what Nigel is asking for is demos and presentation that anyone from the project can run or show in response to a request.
Accessible from the web or easily downloadable, presumably.
Would it be possible to create such things?
I find the github thing pretty impenetrable as far as finding something like that, I’m sorry to say, and somehow I don’t think Nigel had in mind to go trawling through it to find his demos :-)

And of course putting them, or at least some material, and links, on the sociam.org web site is needed.
If there are SOCIAM papers on eprints they are not finding there way to http://www.sociam.org/publications , although we have been here before :-)

And I’m sure Nigel wants engineering of the sociam site for the long term.
So the results of SOCIAM should be finding there expression there as we go along.
We could do worse than copy the sort of pages about all the results that we did for the AKT project - http://www.aktors.org/akt/
Having a technologies page (or using the results page) similar to http://www.aktors.org/technologies/ would be cool.
OK, most of the outgoing links are dead, and the triplestore behind it is long gone (on a broken machine under Nick’s desk, I think).
But at the time there was real access to the results, and there it is still possible to find out what was done and contact people.

Best
Hugh

These are primarily talks for internal SOCIAM meetings but would likely be of interest to third parties as well. As far as I can tell there's nothing secret in any of them.
