[Sociam-soton] Meeting on Monday 11 November

Hi All

For our local meeting on Monday 11 November (3.30pm-5.00pm) Nigel has invited Reuben Wilcock (Senior Enterprise Fellow in ECS) to give a 20-minute pitch entitled "Commercialising research in ECS: the new Electronic Design Initiative".

This will be followed by a discussion around Personal Data Stores and Dan has provided the brief for this below.  We have invited some colleagues from Tim's group in MIT to Skype in from 4pm for this discussion.

PDS Briefing:
Given the remit of the SOCIAM project to perform and support social machines research, we'd like to re-explore how personal data stores can contribute to that aim - and specifically how INDX can be built upon in the medium term for the kind of social machines research that our project is doing.  The plan is for a round table discussion of what everyone expects to do, and what additional features they might need. We can then tailor the roadmap to ensure we'll meet particular needs on time.  Wendy is specifically thinking of supporting Web Observatories' research using PDS's in the near future.

The meeting will be in the Boardroom (4073).
