Check out Randomise Me: http://randomiseme.org
It's a new form of social machinery, it is offering users to perform their
own 'science'; allowing a user to create a trial, and then invite
participants to join in and help prove/disprove it.
Although this might be used for trivial things (currently there are trials
such as, does eating cheese before bed give you nightmares), this is a great
example of crowdsourcing and potentially an free and open data resource of
human activity and interest.
If the machine gets more popular, will the type of trials being conducted
become more scientific, will the machine have to adapt to this, will the
community using it change? Will other social machines emerge from this?
Something to watch out for!
Thanks,
Ramine
