[Patina] Paper

I've done an initial submission to easychair to make sure that everything
is working as expected, and that worked :) Will be pushing new versions in
fairly frequently tomorrow I suspect! The current working draft is attached
- feel free to mail over PDF annotations, or edit the doc directly.
