We are working on PATINA, a project about augmenting research spaces
with technology. In this context we have observed and interviewed
some PhD and master students in Archaeology. Based on these
observations we have formulated the hypothesis that their process of
note-taking could be augmented through technology, in a lightweight
manner, to enhance the review and sharing of these notes.
We are now finalizing a prototype system around this and we would
like to evaluate it to test our hypothesis. This is essentially a
web application (like a wiki or a blog) that allows student to
record their notes in a structured way and then to browse and
analyse them based on this structure.
We think that the best group to test the system is the
osteo-archaeology master students, as they are all at a similar
point in their research career and they follow a common schedule,
which would make it easier for us to observe how different
individuals interact with our system.
If you think that this could be interesting / it would be ok for us
to work with osteo master students, could we arrange a meeting to
present you more in depth what we have in mind and arrange practical
details?
