It will go as an iMessage if possible, if the device is not reachable it will fall back to SMS. iMessages sent to my iPhone using my phone number do not appear on my iPad or Messages.app on the Mac.

There is something wrong in the sentence above. Isn't it the case also for the iPhone app? It seems to me that to use iMessages you need to send to an Apple ID, if you use the phone number the message will go as an SMS. Or not?<br>
