I've never come across this, however it's perhaps interesting to note that when entering a non–WEP (e.g., WPA-*) key, OS X's UI doesn't let you type a '$' as the first character of the password.<div>

There's a wifi access point (A BT Hub) which I always have trouble connecting to; it fails DHCP and I get a "self assigned IP", and no router etc.<br>

I found an amazingly weird solution... putting "$" at the start of the WEP password fixes the issue. Anyone else encountered this?<br><font color="#888888">
