Interesting. The opposite of my view of the machine. I use mine every 
day (even rip DVDs on it), and it's behaving great. Huge multi-layer 
building plans in Illustrator stretch it a bit, but otherwise absolutely 
fine for me.
I've got the 1.3GHz version with 8GB RAM.

I never video-conference, so can't comment on that.
