the latest os x update was supposed to fix this - hasn’t.

Also, hugh, yes this has happened for me using PostBox as well…

but mail more so.

And narrative:

it completely hosed me back in May, when i’d sent a bunch of mails out - or so i thought - about dealing with revisions to the budget for a funding proposal
- only to find out from frantic emails from finance the next day they hadn’t received anything.

no big warning sign to show mail hasn’t gone out.

I use Outlook, and I have had this problem a couple of times recently. It
looks like it has gone but a minute later turns up in the drafts rather
than the sent box.  On one occasion I kept trying to resend from the
Drafts but it kept failing.  For one reason or another the mail server is

just when thinking it¹s sorted it¹s not.
for no apparent reason, mail just hangs around in the out box

this seems to be a known issue but haven¹t seen a great solution.
