Okay, I've got what appears to be a working solution for using Managed
Print from OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
(It at least gets the printed file into the print queue pretty reliably)
This is using Dave Tarrant's lpd-based method, designed before
iSolutions produced their latest lpd-based method.
1) First thing to do is delete the MFD printers from System Preferences,
or you'll get lost.
2) Then clear up /Library/Printers.
In there you'll find 2 things you want to delete
a. The /Library/Printers/KONICAMINOLTA directory in its entirety.
b. The files KONICAMINOLTA*.gz in
/Library/Printers/PPDs/Contents/Resources.
Now your Mac should know nothing about KM printers any more.
Then go to
https://secure.ecs.soton.ac.uk/kb/entry/232/
and carefully follow the instructions.
I have tried to make the instructions as simple and obvious as possible,
but please follow them precisely.
Then you should be able to get a document as far as the print queue.
And, of course, many thanks to Taz for doing the hard work on this, I
just made the instructions pretty.
Note: you can easily find the web page given above by searching the ECS
intranet for "managed print mavericks".
