My 10.6 Hackintosh VM has File -> Take Screen Shot..., so I guess since 
then or 10.5; I'm pretty sure it wasn't there in 10.4, but no longer 
have a machine running that.

Odd that it and Grab have different UI for the same operations; 
Preview's is slicker and more modern with semitransparent overlays.
