Hmm, is that globally applicable? I finally shunted* my 10.4 Mac to 10.6 
(welcome from the world of yesterday!), and just figured I'd be expected 
to pay up if I wanted iLife on it. If it's possible to get 10.4's 
Garageband to install and make silly noises under 10.6 without it 
overwrite-downgrading random things it might be worth finding the disc...

* Full-on zeroing-the-drive-first clean reinstall. It's the only way to 
be sure.
