Those upgrades just come from the Upgrades page of the App Store. It
just happens to remind you of their availability every now and then.
The App Store now delivers all software updates for Mountain Lion as
well. There's no longer any separate "Software Updates" program at all,
it's just all done from the App Store.
And don't forget to give it your Twitter details in System Preferences
("Mail, Contacts & Calendars"), then you can tweet from anywhere and the
Notifications Centre will tell you about Twitter mentions and the like.
See the new icon in the top right corner of your desktop, just to the
right of the Spotlight icon.
Loads of new little features in Mountain Lion!
Jules
