Have you installed anything like iStat Menus to monitor it? That will
show disk i/o and such like as well, which might give you a better idea
of what's going wrong.
Otherwise your fastest way to reinstall it is to drop it off with me, or
else bring in both laptops and we'll clone the Air onto the Pro if you like?
