The inevitable upshot of that is that pressing the "power user" button
is just part of the install procedure for "everything", in the same way
that UAC on Windows is something most people either just thump "yes" on
or turn off entirely. The same way that for decades installers on
Windows suggested disabling anti-virus* while running them, although for
that one since it wasn't a blocker people didn't tend to do it AFAIK.
People do not give a damn for stuff getting in the way of running
software they think they want to run. It's all a distraction to be
dismissed as quickly as possible.

* Particularly games. I suspect the funny thing here is that the
legitimate software was trying to install "legitimate" DRM rootkits. If
you want to see where normal software DRM is going to be in a few years,
look to gaming---Steam has been doing the "App Store" routine since 2003
(Apple's was introduced in 2008), and is even moving to non-gaming
software now itself.
