I find myself increasingly using DropBox for any non-sensitive stuff.
JISC had an open call a while back for up to £300k for someone to develop a version tailored to UK HE use, and with all data held in the UK. Don't know whether that was funded or if it's in progress.
ECS DropBox anyone? :)
