To be fair, I already have an MBA DVD drive which I could repurpose (it's not like I ever use it on the air, short of reinstalling the thing)
And if Blu-ray ever does come along for the Mac, it'll simply be a case of swapping the drive for a BD-ROM instead.

I'd just have preferred it to be built-in. That's all, no biggie really :)
