Not really. While a bit of a wind-up, the point does stand that DVD is 
yesterday's technology, so you use yesterday's technology to rip it. 
When I want to image a floppy disk for retro emulation shenanigans, I 
don't reach for my shiny new ultraportable laptop to do it---I go to the 
ollllld desktop.

As for Blu Ray, apparently Steve Jobs hates it. I don't blame him, since 
it involves JAVA.
