(Late to the party, but) can I just say that I BL**DY LOVE LION MAIL.

Speaking as someone who has had to cope with Outlook for the last year, Mail is fluid, graceful, speedy and interesting to look at.
I love the thread rendering, three column view, address completion, text indentation and Exchange support. I love the fact that the calendar is a separate but well-integrated app.

I am actually excited about this upgrade - it feels like I have a new machine - like I have a new kind of machine.

As a longtime Psion user, I'm still annoyed that small laptops don't have touchscreens yet.... other than the grotty Windows Tablet edition machines, which were awful.

A touchscreen iMac seems like it would give you arm ache.

I can see Lion Mail working OK with the widescreen 11" Air, with folder, inbox and thread panes. A touchscreen on such smaller models would seem even more appropriate?

Thanks to the change in inertia, the two finger swipe-scroll does seem to
be quite reasonable. I've just tried scrolling through a webpage that
runs
to thirty-three page, and it takes 3-4 swipes to go from top to bottom.

I'm getting used to it.

The thing is, if Apple are going to make Mac Mail feel like the iOS Mail app, which if their intention they seem to have achieved, I want a 15" touch screen to drive it.
