We have a site licence for Apple OS's, so I'll get a copy from the App
Store and put it on the software server cifs://software/software so that
you can just drag and drop the app onto your desktop and then run it.
If you want to do a complete fresh install (despite Apple saying it's
not possible), do this:
1. Right-click on the app
2. Choose "Show package contents"
3. Go into the "Shared Support" directory
4. Take InstallESD.dmg and either burn it onto a DVD or restore it
(using Disk Utility) onto a 4GB USB stick (yes, it's a lot smaller than
Snow Leopard)
5. Power on your Mac with Alt/Option held down
6. Choose the DVD or USB device to boot off
7. Partition and format your disk
8. Install Lion.
As for when it will be released, it's when they are ready to. Original
release date was planned for last Thursday, but that didn't happen. We
sit and wait. :)
