They aren't encrypted. Considering they are hosted on site do they need
to be? Passwords and such like are always encrypted, I don't see much
need for the rest of it to be encrypted to be honest. There are people
involved in clinical trial data who have to store it encrypted, but
that's about all.
We have to abide by the Data Protection Act and RIPA and the Human
Rights Act and all sorts of legislation that covers how we give access
to whom and what, and how we protect any of your personal or private data.
We are not some commercial organisation who makes you sign Ts and Cs
saying we have the right to access and use all your data (unlike people
like Dropbox who do exactly that).
