You're too young to have used a Proper Computer with Versioning. I seem to
remember that it was a bl??dy nightmare. You used to spend all your time
manually deleting versions to get your filespace back.
The Mac filesystem* does have very sophisticated metadata facilities - its
just that no applications or frameworks really put them to much use.
