[OSX-Users] certificates for email/web

The uni hasn't set up as a signing authority, has it?

are there standard options for certificates for email signing? ANything we could do to encourage the U to set up a certificate generation operation?

One of the cool things about MIT is that it has these certs at both the uni and the school level: so i have an MIT.edu cert  and a CSAIL cert. This means that when i email out a reference or whatever from me or make a request for something there's that extra level of validation that yes this is from a person at the university. 

They tend to use certs as the default way to be able to download software or access resources, so the email component is more of a bonus than a necessity.
