[OSX-Users] Won't stop selecting OSX issue

I have a recurring bug on my macbook pro laptop. (running 10.6.4)

I have no idea what causes it, some obscure key combo, perhaps?

This bug means that every time I click in a window it starts doing a 
drag-select. One time closing & reopening the laptop seemed to clear it, 
but this time it required a reboot.  I have a work around so I can cope, 
but maybe someone on this list has a better solution? (I found a forum 
full of "me too" reports, no help)
