On the universal remote front Apple did open up the dock connector in the
SDK and these

accessories-debut/ emerged at CES. Seeing as the same dock connector is
there I can't see it being too hard for these companies to move it to the
iPad, maybe it'll be enough to encourage Apple to include it in future
revisions.

The lack of a built in USB socket is pretty bloody stupid. It's not like
they don't make tiny USB connectors.

The lack of an infrared output is a miss, as having this double as a
universal remote would make so much sense.

Couple of thoughts:

Since the IPad can connect to digital cameras, it must be able to do USB
Host mode, place your bets on how long until we see a dock connector camera,
either from Apple or by jailbreak?

Second, can't someone invent a wireless VGA connector? Having to sit in the
chair and present cos the iPad had to be tethered down looked a little lame.

Hmm, I'd prefer some device midway between the iPad and the iPhone in
size, something that fits in a jacket pocket that just does what an iPhone
does but bigger.

I can see a market for the iPad though, but not moved to buy one yet :)
