Not Drobo either, I several people who've had them fail, and there's  
no easy way to recover the data when they do. You have to buy another  
identical machine and switch the disks. That can be hard if the model  
you have is out of production.

I use a linux box with a load of disks, but it's not exactly trivial  
to setup. You can get 1.5TB disks for under £100.
