For me, when travelling for a day for a meeting or similar the iPhone
has replaced the need for me to take a laptop. It's good enough to do
general email and web stuff. Not everything, but enough.
The iPad is such a size that if I'm carrying that to a meeting, I may
as well carry my Macbook. I would find a device twice the size of an
iPhone attractive for that purpose (jacket pocket size), but once you
hit iPad size, no.
Something with the screensize of a Newton and the thickness of an iPhone

The iPad however appears neither convenient nor fully functioned.
I guess I'll remain open minded though until I see one. It was hard to
grasp jhust how good an iPhone was until a had my hands on one :)
